Before generating credentials, you must ensure that your user role has permission to enable and use the Database API.
Log into your AppFolio account.
Click your name in the upper right corner → General Settings.
Click Manage User Roles and Permissions.
Select the User Role you want to update.
Expand the Global section.
Expand API Access.
Review the levels of API permissions and enable the appropriate access for your role.
If changes are made, click Review Changes → Save.
These permissions must be enabled before you are allowed to turn on the Database API itself.
