Integrating Jira with Fostr allows you to bring project tracking, issue management, and sprint workflows directly into your AI operating system. This guide walks you through the steps to securely connect your Jira account, configure visibility settings, and ensure data flows into the right Recordsets and Actions inside Fostr.

Step 1: Get an API Token

Go to Atlassian API Token Manager.

Click “Create API token.”

Name the token "Fostr AI" and set the expiration date to be a year out.

Copy and securely store the generated token (you will not be able to see it again).

Note: User emails must be made publicly visible for API lookups. In Jira, navigate to:

• Profile icon (upper right) → Account Settings → Profile and visibility → “Contact” section → set email visibility to Anyone.

Step 2: Finalize Integration in Fostr

Submit the following to the Fostr application to establish your Jira integration.

Once credentials are provided, Fostr will validate the connection. Testing should confirm that Jira issues, projects, and users are syncing properly.
