Fostr helps you keep your chats organized, whether you're starting a new one, renaming, or archiving older conversations. This guide walks you through how to start chats and manage them from your sidebar.
Starting a New Chat
- Go to the Home page.
- The Home page is also your New Chat page.
- If you’re currently viewing an existing chat, click Home in the sidebar to return to the New Chat page.
- Start your new chat.
- Once on the Home page, begin typing to start a fresh conversation.
Managing Your Existing Chats
You can manage all your saved chats from the sidebar.
- Locate the chat you want to manage in the sidebar.
- Click the three dots (⋯) beside the chat name to open the chat management menu.
- Choose one of the following options:
- Pin: Keeps your chat at the top of the sidebar for quick access.
- Rename: Change the chat’s title so it’s easier to identify later.
- Duplicate: Make a copy of the conversation to build on or reuse.
- Archive: Move the chat out of your active list without deleting it.
- Delete: Permanently remove the chat. (Deleted chats cannot be recovered.)
Accessing Archived Chats
Archived chats aren’t gone, they’re just stored separately for easy reference.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the Home (New Chat) page.
- Select Archived Chats from the dropdown menu.
- Your archived conversations will appear here, ready for viewing or restoration.
Important Notes
- Archiving is reversible, you can always access archived conversations later.
- Deleting is permanent, once a chat is deleted, it’s gone for good.
